Dark Horse saddles up in Chula Vista

Dark Horse Coffee Roasters will soon be opening its first South Bay location in Chula Vista this fall.

The company’s co-founder Bryan Charlson recently told Eater San Diego that the store’s grand opening was “right around the corner.”

Dark Horse is a San Diego-based company. It prides itself on sourcing direct-trade coffees and developing relationships with small coffee farms all over the world.

The menu will have a variety of coffees for sale, including its popular espressos and maple lattes. Dark Horse has also released a new cold-brew iced coffee served in cans or refillable growlers. The Chula Vista location will also serve soft ice cream in a partnership with Mutual Friend Ice Cream. Dark Horse is also known for its vegan “Skinny Donuts.”

The new location was chosen through a social media post. Many months ago, Dark Horse posted a survey on Instagram about a new location. A decisive 80% of the people who responded said the coffee roaster should open in Chula Vista.

The 2,000 square foot space in Chula Vista will be the company’s fifth location in San Diego. There is also a location in Orange County.

When new businesses, open there is a new for printing service for Menus, Signs, and banner printing for grand openings. There is no set date for an opening for the Chula Vista location as yet, but it will be located in the Park Plaza at the Village Center at F Street and Third Avenue.
