The Chula Vista Lemon Festival has grown to be a popular event for the local area, and this year, the function will be celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The festivities will see the Downtown section of Third Avenue transformed into a giant outdoor party, and the yellow fruits will take pride of place. Many of the activities and food that will be on offer will have a lemon theme, and the activity plays homage to the community’s days of being a major producer of the citrus fruit.
The plans for the day are filled with fun, with games, costume contests, live music, and photo ops on the agenda. Food is likely to be the major draw for many of the guests, and along with a chance to patronize downtown eateries and food trucks, the function will include lemonade and lemon pie eating contests. The celebration will be family friendly, and dogs are welcome so long as they are leashed and under their owner’s control.
