At one time, a family’s herb garden, fields, and forests made up its medicine chest, and a Chula Vista area activity will show how nature still offers a wealth of natural remedies.
The Blue Wind School of Botanical Studies will show how easy it can be to craft salves, teas, lineaments, herbal oils, and other self-care products using plants sourced from California. The focus will be on native species, and the class fee is $85, which includes materials.
The facilitator will introduce the learners to the benefits of using natural ingredients, and it will be an intensive learning experience. It will start with the fundamentals, with plant chemistry as well as various methods for extracting active ingredients to be discussed. The rest of the time will be utilized in hands-on preparation, and each learner will be able to go home with products they have crafted themselves.
Workshops and other educational opportunities may be helpful in helping people reconnect with nature. Print shops will be happy to prepare learning materials as well as Promotional Products to distribute during these events.
This introduction to the benefits of plant-based self-care will be on offer on Sunday, April 3. Details about the exact start time and location will be sent out to each registrant by no later than Wednesday, March 23.
