Chula Vista calls itself a City of Champion, and an upcoming annual event is intended to show why that moniker holds true.
The 2020 Chula Vista Champions Celebration will honor community members who have excelled in sports, academics, community service, the arts and more.
This is the fourth year for the event. The organizing committee is accepting nominations from now until February 17, closing at 5:00 pm. Self-nominations are accepted, and encouraged. Teams and classes are also eligible. Those who want to nominate themselves or others can do so on the Chula Vista city website. Nominees can live, work, and/or play in Chula Vista.
Past champions will also get special recognition. The organizing committee will notify those selected as this year's champions so that they can plan ahead and attend the event. Nominees must be at the event to be recognized, and champions receive a special Chula Vista City of Champions medal.
Events such as this one require programs that contain the names of the nominees, their biographical information, as well as other information such as sponsors. Professional looking programs can be created and purchased through local Print shops.
The 2020 Chula Vista Champions Celebration will take place Saturday, February 29 at 11:00 am at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center, 2800 Olympic Parkway in Chula Vista.
