Chula Vista soap making class to offer good clean fun

Soap can be made from a variety of materials, and goat’s milk will provide the base for bars of soap created during a Chula Vista area class next month.

The students in the workshop will discover how goat’s milk and premium oils can be transformed into a luxurious bar of soap. The class size will be kept small so that all the participants will have an equal chance to participate, and the organizers recommend that anyone who would like to take apart should register ahead of time.

The pupils in the class will meet the goats at Wild Willow Farm and tour its herb garden. Next, they will explore the cold process method of making soap, including how it can be scented and colored using natural ingredients. Finally, they will discover how essential oils can be incorporated into the recipe.

The suggested attire for the workshop is casual and comfortable. Closed-toed shoes should be worn, and everyone is asked to bring along a water bottle. Along with their bar of soap, each student will take home directions for making soap, and items like these can be prepared by a company that prints Letterheads and other Stationery.

Wild Willow Farm and Education center will be offering this soap making class on March 3. The registration fee starts at $25.
