Chula Vista information session to explore CASA program

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program depends on volunteers to help speak for kids who are in the system, and those interested in getting involved may want to add an upcoming event to their calendar.

The group’s San Diego County chapter will be offering an online information session, and those who live in Chula Vista are welcome to sit in. It was noted in the event’s listing that each volunteer will be asked to commit to dedicating between 10 and 15 hours a month to the activity, and attending the session is the first step in volunteering with CASA.

This free online workshop will introduce potential volunteers to the program, including what it does and does not do for the kids who get involved. Current CASAs will share their stories, and everyone will be able to ask questions. They can then submit their application, although the organizers say it may streamline the process to do so ahead of the information session.

Volunteers are often the lifeblood of a not-for-profit organization. Information packages that include promotional Pens and other materials can be provided by local printers, along with Corporate Gifts and other customized materials.

The San Diego County chapter of CASA has organized this information session for May 21. It will start at 10:00 am and be offered on the Zoom platform.
