Chula Vista is known to many as a city of champions, and during an upcoming event, it will be recognizing some of its own local achievers.
The Chula Vista Champions Ceremony will highlight the efforts of its residents who have received local, regional, national or even international recognition. Recipients can nominate themselves or someone else, and submissions from those who have made achievements in the world of academics, sport, art and culture, community service, or other areas will all be welcome.
The nominations can be for individuals, groups or teams, but they may not have been a previous recipient of a Chula Vista Champions medal. The names submitted for the occasion will be kept confidential, and the nominee must attend the recognition ceremony in person to receive their award.
The organizers of the day have put out a call for volunteers to assist in the day’s celebration, which will be held in the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center.
