Chula Vista's annual South Bay Pride Art and Music festival is celebrating its 12th year by paying homage to one of the most influential moments in the history of the LGBTQ community.
The festival is commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising which was a pivotal time in the gay rights movement both in the United States and internationally.
The South Bay Pride Art and Music Festival recognizes this important moment in gay history in a much more tranquil style, as it has always done in the past - with live music, vendors and artists celebrating, and embracing diversity in all Forms on Bayside Park's vast lawn.
The event is put on by South Bay Alliance to foster educational awareness and community outreach. It is also an important fundraiser, as the South Bay Alliance is looking to build a new resource center in south San Diego county to create a safe haven for LGBTQ youth and seniors.
Admission is free. The festival has become so popular that in 2015 the location had to be moved to Bayside Park, where there is much more room. Events like these often grow and become popular by using printing services.
The South Bay Pride Art and Music Festival is Saturday, September 14, from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm at Bayside Park, 999 Bayside Parkway, in Chula Vista.
