Fans of the Japanese beverage sake will soon be enjoying themselves when they attend a celebration set for the Chula Vista area.
Thanks to a partnership between the Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana and the San Diego Sake Club, ticketholders for the 8th Annual San Diego SAKE Festival will be treated to a special experience. It will be the largest event of its kind in the city, and it is limited to those age 21 and up only.
The gathering will provide a taste of Japan without having to travel, and selections from the United States will also be on the list. There are several ticket types available, and discounted early bird passes will be available until August 31. Along with the sake, Japanese beers will be poured, and there will be live entertainment, including a traditional barrel opening ceremony. Everyone will receive a souvenir tasting cup that features a special graphic design.
To give those who would like a deep dive, 30 exclusive VIP passes have been made available. These include access to a special seating area, as well as nigiri sushi and a sake tasting led by subject matter experts.
The San Diego Sake Festival will provide a taste of Japan on Saturday, October 5. It is scheduled for 1735 Hancock Street in San Diego, and tickets start at $65 each.
