What's Happening in Carlsbad, CA…

New date set for Carlsbad to go wild

As a result of Poinsetta Fire, the annual Carlsbad Wild West Fest, which was to take place on May 17, has been rescheduled. Now set to take place in just under a week, the event features Western-themed crafts, pony rides, root beer tasting, a salsa contest, and mechanical bull riding.

Events such as this one often utilize a banner printing service to advertise. If necessary, a banner can be altered if an event needs to be rescheduled.

Wild West Fest will take place at the Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park, which at one time was a working ranch owned by actor, poet, philanthropist, and preservationist Leo Carrillo. The site has been designated a California Historic Landmark and is located next to the Carrillo Elementary School, where free parking will be available.

Admission is free, although certain activities will require the purchase of an activity card for $6. For those wishing to participate in the root beer tasting contest, a $3 charge will allow them to sample five different brews and then enjoy a root beer float. Similarly, a $3 wristband permits the wearer to sample multiple salsas and vote in some of the categories. Chili's, a sponsor for the event, will be the official judge for the other salsa categories.

Food and beverages will be available for sale, as well as Western-themed merchandise. The event takes place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on June 1.
