Embroidery workshop on offer in Carlsbad area
A Carlsbad area activity will introduce the practice and art of embroidery to a new crop of needle queens and kings later this month.
The hands-on Embroidery & Mindfulness: Stitching with Inspiration workshop, which is for those age 16 and up, will combine working with a needle and thread with relaxation. No previous experience is required and all of the instruction and materials are included in the registration fee.
The activity will open with a tour of the venue so that the attendees can draw inspiration from its exhibits. After this, the facilitator will teach how to use the cloth and embroidery hoop, as well as the basic stitches. Everyone will learn how to use texture, color, and pattern in their piece, and the mindfulness aspects of embroidery will be emphasized. They will be able to create their own unique project to take home so they can continue to work on it after the session has ended.
