This year, Carlsbad will be kicking off the holiday season in a brand new way, and everyone is invited to get in on the celebration.
Carlsbad Village will be hosting its first ever Night of Lights, which its organizers hope will encourage people to get together with their friends and family for a night of fun in the downtown core. Live orchestral music will be provided courtesy of the Carlsbad High School Choir, and there will also be jazz reeditions of seasonal favorites and a performance by the McDonald Quartet. Santa will be on hand for the evening as well.
To help people get a jump on their holiday shopping, downtown stores will be open, and some will even be serving their shoppers treats and other refreshments and have special prices just for the occasion. There will be a window display contest where shoppers can vote for their favorites, and the first 50 people will each receive a free bag of swag filled with goodies from the local area.
