Carlsbad workshop to help maximize funds for not-for-profits

The not-for-profit world often depends upon external funds to deliver programming and services, and an upcoming workshop that will take place in Carlsbad will show how it is possible for charities to diversify their funding sources.

During the morning to be hosted at the Westin Carlsbad Resort and Spa, Karen Henken, who is a Professor of Practice at the University of San Diego will be sharing her expertise, and she will guide the group through a discussion of how social enterprise can be an option for not-for-profit organizations looking for ways to diversify their funding streams.

Those who take a seat for the function will learn how a social enterprise can create a sustainable source of support for a group, and they will also find out how the funds that they raise through these efforts can be put to work in the community. Along with all of this, there will be a discussion of how this can also raise public awareness about a cause.

Social enterprises offer many benefits for a charitable organization, and print shops can also lend a hand. They can offer budget friendly-marketing materials for this sort of project, and these can play an important role in helping a charitable group reach its fundraising goals.

Organized by the North County Philanthropy Council, this morning of learning is being offered to Carlsbad’s not-for-profit community on September 18. It will begin at 9:00 am, and wrap up at 1:30 pm.
