Carlsbad to chill out with ice rink
A cool new business will open soon in Carlsbad. IceTown, which operates an indoor ice rink in Riverton, is set to open a second location here later this month.
According to one of IceTown’s owners, Matt Dunaev, the demand for ice rinks is growing. Opening near the Palomar Airport, the rink will offer curling, hockey, figure skating, and open skating.
The new facility will be North County’s second ice rink, the other being Ice-Plex in Escondido, which opened in 1994. IceTown in Carlsbad will feature an 85x200-foot rink surrounded by tempered glass. Also on the premises will be a snack bar, a full-service pro shop, classrooms, and changing rooms.
The rink will open on December 19 and be available for fundraisers, birthday parties, and other special events. Dunaev says IceTown in Carlsbad will reserve approximately 25 hours a week to open skating.
The new ice rink would appear to have a promising future, with 12 to 14 hockey teams already having made a decision to use it.
Like any new enterprise, IceTown in Carlsbad will have a variety of uses for the services of a print company, such as supplying business cards, letterheads, and other stationery items. Additionally, flyers can be used to describe what the rink has to offer and drum up support for new hockey and curling teams.
