Carlsbad library hosts author presentation
Author Lynne Cox will be paying a visit to the Carlsbad City Library's Schulman Auditorium for an event that may appeal to dog and water lovers alike.
Known for their large size, webbed feet, dark fur, and gentle disposition, Newfoundland dogs have been used as rescue animals for many years. During the event, Cox will introduce her book, ‘Tales of Al’, which tells the story of one of these dogs. The function is free and open to the public.
The presentation will discuss how Newfoundland dogs are trained in Italy to perform water rescue operations, and as Cox is a long-distance swimmer, she was inspired by their actions. The attendees at the function will be able to meet her in person, and she will be signing books on site. Anyone who would like to order one for pickup on the day of the activity can do so, but advance registration to attend the activity is not required.
Many people enjoy meeting authors and hearing their perspective on their works. A poster printing company will be able to help spread public awareness about an event.
The Carlsbad Dove Library branch, which is located at 1775 Dove Lane, will be welcoming the public for this event at 2:00 pm on August 6. Copies of the book are available, priced at $27 each.
