Carlsbad invited to meet high-flying hunters

Hawks, eagles, owls, kites, and falcons are all birds of prey, and a Carlsbad experience will introduce these flying hunters to those who take part.

The Carlsbad City Library Learning Center, which is located at 3368 Eureka Place, is set to host a presentation that will feature some special high-flying feathered friends. It will run for 30 minutes, and the whole family is welcome.

The activity will see attendees meet an owl and a falcon up close, and it will include the chance to learn more about birds of prey, their role in their ecosystems, the challenges they face, and what they need to survive. There will be details shared about how their sense of sight and other body systems have evolved to make them expert hunters. As only a set number of spots are available, everyone interested is advised to arrive early.

Learning about the natural world can fun as well as educational, especially when there are live animals on hand. Information sheets and other learning materials for an activity can be ordered from a local brochure printing company.

This opportunity to meet some live birds of prey up close will be offered to the public on Friday, January 17. It is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm, and is on offer thanks to a partnership with the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation.
