Carlsbad clinic to keep items out of the trashcan
Broken electronics and other household items may often be repaired instead of simply thrown away, and a Carlsbad in-person clinic will lend a hand.
The City of Carlsbad has planned a FixIt clinic for the Carlsbad City Library branch at 1775 Dove Lane. The whole family is welcome to attend the event.
The function will see experienced “fixers” walk the attendees through the steps of repairing their broken item, if at all possible. Even if it cannot be fixed, attendees can learn about how the item was made and should function, and troubleshooting tips will be shared as well. Workspaces, tools, and other equipment will be provided to registrants during the three-hour running time. Each participant is asked to only bring one item, and admission will be free. Advanced registration is strongly recommended, but walk-ins may be accommodated if time and capacity permits.
