Marine ecosystems have some of the most diverse ranges of life on earth, and Carlsbad’s SEALIFE Aquarium will be taking part in a California-wide day that celebrates the parks that allow people to see these spaces up close and personal.
To mark its 9th Annual Underwater Parks Day, the facility will be hosting a variety of special events. Local and state conservation groups will have display tables set up where visitors can stop by to learn more about marine life and what they can do to protect it. There will be fun activities to enjoy, including encounters with the sea creatures, arts and crafts, giveaways, and more. Emphasis will be placed on the challenges faced by underwater ecosystems, such as global warming and invasive species, and also the importance of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
