A combined event is coming up in Show Low that draws thousands of people hungry for good food and great music.
The Main Street Battle of the Bands & Food Vans brought out more than 2,600 visitors the last time it was held, and organizers hope to increase that number. There are two separate competitions involved in the event—food and music.
There will be nine bands and nine food vans chosen to compete this year. Registration is still open, so the participants have not yet been chosen.
The day starts as each band plays one set, while attendees get comfortable in the grass with family and friends. People can stay the entire day, listening to the music, trying food from all the food vans, and enjoying cold beverages.
The entry fee is $5 per person, with children 12 years of age and younger free with a paying adult. Every paid attendee will be given five voting chips, which they can use in any combination, such as giving all five to one band, one food van, or a combination.
The gates open at 11:00 am this Saturday, September 2. The first band will play starting at 12:00 pm, and each of the following bands will play on the hour, with the final outfit starting up at 8:00 pm. Organizers of events like this can promote them by using poster printing to create colorful advertising to be placed around the local area.
