An event that gives participants a choice of races is coming to Show Low.
The Deuces Wild Endurance Festival offers relays, runs, aquabikes, and triathlons, and will take place at the Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area. Racers will run and swim in this area, and ride bicycles through Show Low proper, all the way to Snowflake-Taylor, where they will turn around and come back to the area.
Organizers warn that the event will have some local impact. Boat ramps at the Recreation Area will be closed for the event, and there will be many bicycles on the road during the races. The roads in the area will remain open, and Signs and traffic control officers will be on the course to direct motorists, who are asked to follow their guidance. Everyone is asked to be as safe as possible, and expect delays. After the event, crews will work to clean up the area and restore full use as fast as possible.
Deuces Wild has a long-standing goal of promoting fitness, outdoor activity, and healthy competition between athletes. At the same time, the events support local educational organizations, businesses, and non-profit organizations. Mountain Main Events is the coordinator of this festival and others in the area.
The festival takes place June 1 and 2, with check-in the day before, May 31. When events like this are planned, organizers will often work with banner printing, which creates outdoor signage to mark the course.
