Bands to fight it out in Show Low

If there’s anything better than a “battle of the bands,” it’s when food trucks join in, and just such an event is planned in Show Low.

The “Battle of the Bands and Vans” will bring a variety of bands together, along with a beer garden, craft vendors, and kids’ zone. The musical lineup thus far includes Znora, Val Chillmore, Stone Country, Santo Diablo, The Brighter Still, BuRgandy JuRk, 4th Hour, Conjunto Diferencia, and Tajlyn.

Most of the bands play rock, but Stone Country, as the name implies, is a country outfit. Znora is based in Tucson, and plays original works, but concentrates on covers of songs from the 1960s through the 1990s. They focus on jams and classic rock.

Val Chillmore and his group blend punk, shoegaze, doom, and stoner rock into a fresh look at the genre of desert rock. Santo Diablo is a border alt-rock band from the border between Sonora Mexico, and Arizona.

BuRgandy juRk focuses on punk rock, and Conjunto Diferencia plays Tejano rock music, which is played along the border between the United States and Mexico, and has influences from Mexican culture along with those from German, Austrian and Czech cultures in the U.S.

Tajlyn is a folk-rock group, and The Brighter Still plays rock, as does 4th Hour. With so many bands playing there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Organizers of events like this will often use poster printing to create fantastic advertising for them.
