Sunday session at Montgomery museum awaits

The first Sunday of every month offers the opportunity for everyone to learn a little more about the art on display at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, meaning the next opportunity is less than two weeks away.

All visitors are treated to a free guided tour of the museum. This includes a description and the history of the art on display. In addition to the usual collection of works, the museum offers special exhibitions through the year with a variety of themes. The tour docent will also answer any questions from visitors related to the art works during the tour.

The free event is a unique marketing tool by the museum to encourage people that might not otherwise visit. It gives art lovers and all others a special opportunity to learn more about the museum and the works they display. The popularity of First Sundays is a reminder to business owners of the power of a free promotion, introducing new experiences and businesses, whether the offer is tangible products like custom Pens and Flyers, or a special event.

The Montgomery Museum of Fine Art was opened in 1930 and is the oldest of its type in the state, offering an extensive collection that includes historical artifacts as well as modern pieces. The museum is open every day with the exception of national holidays.

The First Sunday tours last one hour and begin at 1:00 pm, with the next one on May 7. Anyone with questions about the museum or First Sunday can call (334) 240-4333 or visit the website for more information.
