A community celebration is scheduled for New Year's Eve in downtown Montgomery.
Few events draw in spectators like the excitement of saying goodbye to one year and ushering in a fresh one. Riverwalk Stadium is the site of this year's celebration, which will include live entertainment, fireworks, and refreshments. Everyone is welcome to attend the event and all proceeds raised during the night will go to the Cops for Kids program.
Local businesses can get in on the fun by advertising the event with Banners and Posters, and extending their hours to take advantage of the large crowd likely to venture into the downtown area. Confetti cannons and a fireworks show are planned for midnight. Montgomery-based jazz and blues band, Federal Expression, are providing the music for the evening and a cash bar will be open all night.
Admission to the event is $3 in advance or $5 on the night of the event. All children under the age of 18 must have an adult with them. Attendees are asked to bring clear Bags, as all Bags and attendees will be screened before they are allowed entry. The gates open at 9:00 pm on New Year's Eve and the music starts at 10:00 pm. The Riverwalk Stadium is located at 200 Coosa Sreet in Montgomery.
