Montgomery man raises money for clean water for Zambian villagers

Montgomery resident Jacob Eubanks is working to build a non-profit organisation that could help with the drinking water needs in Zambia.

Eubanks visited the African country and, upon seeing the villagers in need of clean water, decided to do something to make the living conditions better for the people he met.

Jacob realized the danger locals were exposed to from the filthy condition of the water they were consuming. To help the community he created Choose Water - originally named Water 282 - an organization that educates villagers about the importance of clean water. The funds raised for the non-profit are used to build new wells and teach villagers the skills necessary to maintain them. The organization also educates the residents of each village about the importance of sanitation and sewage management.

The suggested donation is $25 - the amount of money that is needed to supply one person with clean drinking water for approximately 25 years. The charitable group is always seeking additional funds for their work. Interested individuals or businesses that want to take part can contact the group directly through social media or their website and request Brochures or newsletters to help with any fundraising efforts.
