Locally grown products on Montgomery residents doorstep

The farmers are back again, and their local market is announcing their return with a Grand Opening.

Anyone who wants to enjoy fresh, locally grown products can stop by the Shoppes at EastChase as of this weekend. The annual Farmers’ Market is back for the 13th year and will be featuring a variety of items from some of the most popular farms in the area.

The EastChase Farmers Market is one of the top five largest markets in the state of Alabama and will feature an expanded offering again this year. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor can contact Suzanna Wasserman at (334) 279-6046.

Even business owners that do not have the time or opportunity to attend the market each Saturday can take advantage of the increased traffic with a special "buy local" campaign, highlighted with Flyers passed out to the market customers and through Banners and Posters in the area.

The Grand Opening takes place tomorrow, May 13, and will include live music, prizes, live chef demonstrations, and children's activities. The festivities run from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with the market open from 7:00 am to noon.

After this weekend, the market is open every Saturday through the summer and fall and is hosted by the Shoppes at EastChase. Those interested can visit the page on Facebook and ‘like’ it for updates on the market and other events taking place.
