Food drive aspires to fill truck

In just a few days, the ‘Stuff the Truck’ Food Drive is coming to Montgomery for the second time this.

Tie and Doll, Inc. is hosting the event in partnership with the Montgomery Area Food Bank. Families and individuals in need in the River Region Area will be the beneficiaries of the nonperishable food items that are to be collected during the drive, all of which will be given to the Montgomery Area Food Bank.

The front of the Sturbridge Winn Dixie is where a U-Haul truck will be located so that businesses and residents can bring nonperishable food items. The goal is to ‘stuff’ the truck with these items.

Suggested donations include boxed goods such as instant potatoes, dinner Boxes, and pasta; canned vegetables including lima beans, okra, and peas; canned fruits such as applesauce, peaches, and fruit cocktail; and canned meats ranging from tuna and salmon, to chicken and rice, and spaghetti with meatballs.

Those who cannot make the food drive can also send monetary donations to Tie and Doll, Inc. in Montgomery.

The drive will be held this Saturday, May 14 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tie and Doll and the Montgomery Food Bank might benefit from the help of a flyer printing company to Print Flyers and other materials that can be mailed to residents and businesses to encourage maximum participation in this special event.
