The Christmas Lights Festival will be held at the Montgomery Zoo this month and will transform the zoo into a winter wonderland, with festive decorations and thousands of lights sparkling throughout.
Visitors can enjoy a train ride, take a leisurely stroll through the zoo, explore the Parakeet Cove, or build a holiday item at the Craft Workshop. There will also be live entertainment every night, visits with Santa, and refreshments of fresh-baked cookies and hot chocolate.
These are all included in the regular admission fee, but additional activities, such as a picture with Santa, take the Zoofari Skylift Ride to see the lights from above, and feeding packs for the Petting Zoo, can also be purchased for a nominal fee.
The Festival runs nightly from December 11 through December 14 and December 18 through December 31
In addition, on Friday nights before Christmas, there will be a Winter Holiday Laser Adventure at the Zoo, presented with the help of Troy University and the Rick Evans, W. A. Gayle Planetarium.
Shows will be at 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm and will involve laser lights, big screens, and dynamic sound. Most likely, techniques like poster and banner printing are being used throughout the Zoo to promote this experience, which can add to the celebration of those who attend the Christmas Lights Festival.
