College shows thanks for students

Troy University, with a campus in Montgomery, will be holding its second annual Student Appreciation Day this week.

'Making a Difference at Troy University' is the theme of this year’s event, in which the staff and faculty show how much they appreciate students. According to chair of the advisory council for Student Appreciation Day and president of the Faculty Senate, Dr. Dionne Rosser-Mims, it is a day in which everyone can show to all students at the University that they feel privileged to be involved with them.

At all of the campuses in Alabama and other centers throughout the United States, there will be prizes, activities, and free food. The Trojan Café will be available for online students to win prizes.

There will be a Book Scholarship contest, where winners of a $100 book scholarship from Barnes & Noble will be announced all day long.

In Montgomery, there will be refreshments for both daytime and evening students, merchandise giveaways from the bookstore, and a scholarship giveaway.

There will also be information tables hosted by student organizations, which will be a good opportunity for these organizations to find Print companies that can create materials on these organizations so that students can take this information with them.

Student Appreciation Day is on Wednesday, April 6.
