Those inspired by this year’s event can join the 26.2 mile run taking place again next year, at a discounted price. Termed “launch entries”, a number of limited places are being offered, allowing those wishing to take part to save close to 20% of the standard entry fee. These entries will be available until the end of this month, or until the number of allocated entries has sold.
Attendees of this year’s marathon witnessed 6,000 entrants undertake the run through the Welsh city of Newport and the surrounding area in perfect warm weather. Cities holding marathons and other events can employ banner printing services from local businesses to decorate their days.
Matt Newman, the Chief Executive for Run 4 Wales, commented on this year’s marathon:
“The second edition of the ABP Newport Wales Marathon proved to be another unforgettable day for the runners, spectators and organisers. The City of Newport came back out to support again and the supporters are the ones who have really helped put it on the running calendar, and cemented it as the largest marathon in Wales.”
While a limited number of discounted places is presently available, when sold out entries at regular pricing will be offered for purchase in autumn.
The 2020 Newport Marathon will be held on Sunday, April 19th 2020.
