A brand-new comedy from a respected Welsh writer and director will be performed live on stage in Newport this year.
People in the area with a passion for the works of Jane Austen on the lookout for laughs are in luck this autumn. Black RAT Productions’ artistic director Richard Tunley has cooked up an all-new comedy that sees one of Austen’s best-loved Books collide with a slice of modern South Wales.
Titled Pride & Prejud(ish), it tells the tale of Lizzie Bennet, who is obsessed with period dramas like Bridgerton and dreams of living in the Regency era. However, enjoying her fantasy is made difficult by her family being on the edge of collapse.

Pride & Prejud(ish) will now be performed live at The Riverfront on Saturday, October 31, at 7:30 pm. The theatre and arts centre is located on Kingsway in Newport, and tickets are priced at £18.50 per person.
