It has been announced that a peace-prize winner will become involved in a protest against a summit to be held in Newport in September.
Medea Benjamin will be speaking in Newport during a demonstration march and rally that will be held in the city centre on 30th August, according to a spokeswoman for the protest group NoNatoNewport. Benjamin has many awards to her name, including the 2014 Ghandi Peace Prize, the 2012 Peace Prize from the US Peace Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Jr Peace Prize.
The protests are taking place in response to the Nato summit that will be held in Newport in September, where more than 60 world leaders and ministers – including US President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel – will meet to discuss global topics such as the conflict in Ukraine.
It is expected that over 4,000 people will attend the march and rally representing many peace organisations from all over the globe, including CND and No to War Network. They will be equipped with Signs and Banners that have been specially made for the occasion, making use of Print companies and services such as banner printing.
This is the first Nato Summit to be held since 2012 when it was held in Chicago, and the first in the UK since it was held in London in 1990.Get a Free Quote for Signs Get a Free Quote for Banners Get a Free Quote for Print
