The stand-up comedian Mark Simmons is on tour with his new show 'Setup, Punchline, Laughter, Repeat', and is due to perform in Newport towards the end of September.
This rising comedy star, known for his one-liners, is a regular on the UK circuit, supporting more established acts such as Seann Walsh. He was a 2013 'Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year' finalist and at Edinburgh in 2017 won a spot in 'Dave's Best Joke of The Fringe'.
Mark's list of TV credits includes ITV’s 'Out There', BBC3’s 'One For The Road', and the BBC Radio 4Extra show 'Stands Up'. He is now a frequent panellist on BBC2's 'Mock The Week' and has co-hosted Fubar Radio's 'News-ish and Film-ish'. He now also hosts his very own successful podcast called 'Jokes With Mark Simmons'.
This new show consists of more than just simple one-liners and has an unusual structure, as there is a constant theme running throughout. Mark’s parents recently sold their house, his childhood home, and he came to pick up a box of his things stored in the attic. The comedian now invites the audience to discover what’s inside.
