The co-founder and chief executive of developers Queensberry Real Estate, Paul Sargent, stated that the firm was delighted the complex would be opening on the scheduled date. He commented:
“Friars Walk will transform Newport, giving people a reason to return to the city centre. We have a fantastic line up of retailers and restaurants and we estimate that we will receive around 10 million visitors in the first year alone.”
Approximately 65 per cent of the space within the complex has already been let, with the likes of Next, Debenhams, Frankie and Benny’s, Nandos and Cineworld among the big name outlets set to open there.
The complex seems certain to be a big hit with residents, and the stores and leisure facilities based there will be able to call on catalogue printing in Newport, for glossy Catalogues showcasing what they have to offer.
It represents one of the biggest investments in regeneration made in the UK, since the start of the recession, and will be among three retail centres expected to launch there this year.
Leader of the council, Bob Bright, stated that residents had wanted improved leisure and shopping options for a long time, and that this complex would deliver them.Get a Free Quote for Catalogues
