The Downton Abbey Outdoor Cinema Experience, organised by Adventure Cinema, is due to be held in Newport in mid-August.
Open-air big-screen movies are a growing way for family and friends to spend an entertaining summer evening. This could be more attractive when spent in the company of the familiar characters from the popular television series, Downton Abbey, which has been a success with viewers of all ages.
The storyline centres on the events surrounding a visit by royals to the stately home and its impact on the Crawley family, their staff and the estate. This transfer from the small screen to film only serves to extend further Downton's reach and its ability to attract new audiences.
Those attending will find facilities for purchasing food, snacks and beverages on hand, also a bar and music provided just prior to the showing of the movie. There is no pre-arranged seating, except for VIPs, although bringing blankets and chairs is permitted and picnics are welcomed.
Tickets start at £16, including no refund policy, while those aged 15 and under must have adult accompaniment. Since this is an outdoor activity, it is advisable to check with the organisers closer to the date. Poster printing can be useful in helping organisers of events such as this draw the public to them.
The Downton Abbey Outdoor Cinema Experience will take place between 7pm and 10:45pm on Saturday 14th August at Tredegar House in Newport.
