The 9th annual Newport Food Festival is due to be held in the city early next month.
The event includes around 75 stalls selling a variety of food and drink to try and buy, street entertainment and fun activities for the whole family. There will be also appearances from top national chefs such as Matthew Pritchard, the host of the BBC’s vegan cookery show, Dirty Vegan
Local chefs will be giving a series of cooking demonstrations, including Curry on the Curve’s Anil Karhadkhar, Ben Periam of The Pod and festival patron Hwyel Jones. These chefs will be showcasing their skills and those who attend these demonstrations can taste the finished dishes for themselves and obtain recipes in order to try them at home.
The final of the annual Teen Chef competition for local children will be held at 11am on the day of the festival.
This free event is organised by Newport City Council and is sponsored by Friars Walk, Pobl and Newport BID with the main activities throughout the day being located in and around High Street, Bridge Street and Newport Market. Brochure printing can be used to provide attendees of high-profile events with information about each activity, venue and sponsor.
The Newport Food Festival will take place in the city between 9am and 5pm on Saturday 5th October.
