Newport to experience folk fusion performance

Sarah McQuaid, is due to play a gig in Newport at the beginning of November.

The performance will be presented by the Caerleon Arts Festival. McQuaid is a Madrid-born Spanish American, who was brought up in Chicago. She previously lived in Ireland for 13 years, and since 2007, she has resided in Cornwall. She was inspired by her folk-singing mother and the singer-songwriter Gamble Rogers, a distant relation.

The folk-orientated singer-songwriter is noted for playing guitar, piano and drums, and she has five critically successful albums to her credit. Her first two albums, "When Two Lovers Meet" and "I Won't Go Home Til Morning", were re-released in 2010 as a double CD in North America, and they went to number one in the folk artist DJ and album charts.

In April 2017, the Ards International Guitar Festival in Northern Ireland presented McQuaid with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Her fifth album, "If We Dig Any Deeper It Could Get Dangerous", was released in the same year to positive reviews. The St. Buryan Sessions will be released as a full album this October.

Tickets cost £11.19 with no booking fee. Banner printing can prove useful when it comes to promoting or publicising a local concert or musical event like this.

Sarah McQuaid's performance will take place between 7.30 pm and 10.30pm on Thursday, 4th November at St. Cadoc's Church, Caerleon, Newport.
