Newport revisits the 50s and 60s
The stage show “Lipstick On Your Collar” is due to give a performance in Newport in mid-February.
It brings to life the period from the beginnings of rock and roll and the “Beat” group era, continuing through the sounds of the "British Invasion" to the "Summer of Love". The show includes more than 40 hits from well-known pop stars of the era like Buddy Holly, Connie Francis, Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, The Beatles, Cliff Richard, The Ronettes, and Dusty Springfield.
The songs are all performed by a full live band that features some of Britain's leading musicians coming directly from the West End. Professional vocalists deliver the harmonies and guests are welcome to dance in the aisles.
The show should appeal to a broad spectrum of people interested in revisiting the sights and sounds of the of the jukebox era, including those who were there the first time around as well as those who are new to the music or simply want to sample something a little out of their traditional comfort zone.
Tickets cost £23 and the show has a running time of 150 minutes. Graphic design is a useful resource and is usually involved in many aspects of the production of a musical stage event.
