Newport is the location for some alt-rock
The alternative rock band Pigeon Wigs is due to play a gig in Newport at the beginning of August. Their material combines riffs with melodic harmonies, often focusing on social commentary and dysfunctional relationships.
The five-piece outfit hails from Cardiff and was formed by songwriters Harry Franklin Williams and Louis Jugessur.
Pigeon Wigs have received considerable airplay and won praise since first breaking on to the alternative music scene, including from BBC Introducing's Adam Walton. This interest has also been reflected in the press coverage, notably from A & R Factory and Buzz Magazine.
Signed up by Cardiff-based music label Clwb Music, they initially put out two singles 'Death of a King' and 'Near the Knuckle'. Pigeon Wigs was shortlisted for Y Not Festival and named a highlight of the Swn Festival.
They are currently promoting their debut EP 'Rock By Numbers' as well as the latest single 'Hold Up'. These readily confirm the band's one-to-watch status, which is helping them to simultaneously continue to make their presence felt on the Welsh music circuit and beyond.
Tickets cost £7.70, inclusive of a transaction fee. Logo design can make a significant contribution to developing the profile of a band or musical act.
The Pigeon Wigs gig has a starting time of 7.30pm on Saturday, August 5 at Le Public Space, Newport.
