Newport gets ready to rock November

The South Wales rockers Ratoon are on tour and are due to play a gig plus support in Newport towards the end of November.

The band was formed on social media and consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Jack Garrett, lead guitarist Sam Davies, bassist Matti Huxtable, and drummer Eifion Davies. After some thought they settled on the name 'Ratoon' which means 'stem'.

Matti's first instrument aged 13 was a Ukulele, then a guitar, and eventually a bass. Elfion was given his first drum kit at age seven. The band's influences include 60s music, indie rock, Billy Joel, and groups such as Queen, The Foo Fighters, and The 1975.

Their 2022 highlights included airplay on Talk Sport and BBC Radio Wales, and supporting the likes of Alfie Templeton and Pentire as well as multiple headlining shows. They have been compared to Suede, The Clash, and Green Day.

Last May the band released their latest single 'Someone Else'; 'Rhywun Arall' in Welsh. which is about suspicion, attachment, and miscommunication within a relationship.

The support on this occasion is provided by the female-fronted rockers Subterranea and Primitive Soul.

Banner printing can prove to be an effective resource when it comes to the promotion of a concert or musical event.

Tickets cost £6.60 inclusive of a transaction fee. Ratoon's gig has a starting time of 7.30pm on Friday 24th November at Le Public Space, Newport.
