What's Happening in Newport, Wales…

Newport gears up for some indie/rock

The Welsh indie/rock band The Crosshairs, plus support, is due to play a gig in Newport in mid-August.

This Cardiff-based outfit was founded in 2022 but has roots in Caerphilly, Newport and Swansea. The line-up consists of Joe Griffiths, frontman, Jake Dunn, lead guitar and Thibault Segrott bass, with Archie Hennessy on drums.

The Crosshairs blend melodic indie sounds with punchy rock riffs, and their first couple of singles are currently available to stream on all platforms. A third single, 'Noseblood', which is out now, has to date notched up more than 12,000 streams.

They have been continually gigging to sell-out shows, all over Wales This will include playing a series of headliners in 2024. With name recognition in Cardiff, they are definitely worth keeping an eye on as a band for the future. According to RGM Magazine:
"The Crosshairs do possess songwriting nous."

Their Support on this occasion is provided by alt-rock band Statues of Men, founded in 2018 by Pembrokeshire twins Dan and Matt Maloney, and by Kinz, a 20-year-old South Wales singer-songwriter.

Tickets cost £6.60 inclusive of a transaction fee. Print shops offer an array of resources to anyone engaged in the promotion of a concert or music event.

The Crosshairs gig has a starting time of 7.30 pm on Saturday 17th August at Le Public Space, Newport.
