Newport anticipates arrival of indie rock artist

The singer/songwriter Bryde, aka Sarah Howells, supported by Twin Stranger and By The Sea, is due to play a gig in Newport at the end of September.

This Welsh vocalist and skilled guitarist has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. She was brought up listening to 90s US grunge and emo in the 00s, initially inspired by Deftones and Jeff Buckley and then later by Cat Power.

Sarah dropped out of University in favour of playing music and touring. Bryde arrived in 2016 as an electric sound, guitar-driven solo endeavour. It embodied many of these seminal influences with her EPs listed on Spotify and promoted by Radio trend setters.

A first album titled Like An Island was released in 2018 and she played the festival circuit notably, Latitude and Boardmasters. It also led directly to a Welsh Music Prize nomination.

Bryde's follow-up album, The Volume Of Things, focused on modern life and was recorded with producer Thomas Mitchener at the helm. In 2021 a cover version of Tori Amos's Silent All These Years found a release date to coincide with International Women's Day.

Tickets cost £11 inclusive of a booking fee. Printing services can be a useful resource when it comes to organising a concert or musical event.

Bryde's gig has a starting time of 7pm on Friday 30th September at Le Public Space, Newport.
