Steady Hands, an American band, is currently on tour and due to play a gig in Newport, at the beginning of July.
New Jersey-born and Philadelphia-raised, the band were brought together in 2012 by Sean Huber, also a member of the band Modern Baseball.
According to critics, their powerful sharp arrangements are combined with strong songwriting, forming the foundations of a distinctive sound.
Steady Hands has worked with a host of musicians, but at its heart lies the present line-up, consisting of Sean Huber, George Legatos, William Lindsay, Richard Straub and Andrew Kirnan. 2017 saw them conclude their first five years by releasing a 20-track LP 'Rube Boys Of Bar Rock'.
In 2018, the band entered the studio with Brian McTear to create a fully extended album. 'Truth in Comedy' contains punk tracks such as 'Magazines' and '40x', as well as grunge-orientated 'Christmas at The ‘Vous’, providing a total of ten rock songs.
Steady Hands has toured all over the world, but no matter the destination, it's the journey that has always been Huber's priority, the band member once stated.
Their most recent album, 'Cheap Fiction', was released in 2023.
