Arts event returns to Newport

Newport will extend a warm welcome to a popular art festival that will run for two days at one of the city’s premier events venues this summer.

The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre in Newport has announced it will once again play host to beloved art extravaganza “Big Splash” in 2025. July will find the festival taking place over two days and organisers are inviting people who live in the city and beyond to attend free of charge.

Last year, the event enjoyed an immense turnout with more than 25,000 visitors in attendance. This year the festival aims to build on its continuing success with funding confirmed from Arts Council Wales and welcome support from Newport BID, Friars Walk, Le Pub and the Mercure Hotel among other associations and businesses.

Event organisers sometimes work closely with professional banner printing services to create branded signage that calls out to key sponsors and trademarks.

Hosted by the theatre and arts hub, the immersive event transforms Newport’s streets in an outdoor stage packed with entertainment. The festival will feature street theatre, live music, workshops, dance and arts and crafts activities designed for all ages.

Big Splash will now run from Saturday, July 19 to Sunday July 20 at the Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre and its surrounding streets The art festival is completely free to attend, and the centre is sited on Kingsway in Newport.
