The Birmingham rock band, The Silver Lines, is about to embark on a tour and is due to play a gig in Newport prior to Christmas.
Founded in 2018 by Joe and Dan Ravenscroft, they were later joined by bassist George Vivian and drummer Kindo. According to critics, their songs are genre-defying, cover diverse topics and explore personal life experiences in depth.
The Silver Lines have previously released several singles, notably ' Roamer' (2018), 'Breathe' and 'Skin' (2020) and 'SLEAZE' (2022), the latter of which received considerable airplay. Apart from their own gigs, the band has also acted as support for the Buzzcocks among others.
2023 saw them recognised as established artists, with the release of singles 'Blow Dry' and 'Bound'. These garnered regular plays on BBC Radio 6 Music, XS Manchester and Amazing Radio, not to mention being promoted by BBC Introducing West Midlands.
In 2023, the band completed a 12-date tour of the UK, before ending the year with a similar tour in the US. Noteworthy festival appearances include Focus Wales, MosFest and Stockton Calling. The band's new EP is set to be released next year.
