Acoustic folk musician has Newport on radar

Singer/songwriter, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, is due to tour and will appear in Newport towards the end of November.

This York-born folk artist began playing guitar as a ten-year-old, ultimately acquiring a reputation for his acoustic introspection. He cites both Bruce Springsteen's and Ryan Adams' influence as significant, whilst himself being compared to the likes of Iron and Wine.

Benjamin initially acted as tour support for I Am Kloot, as well as Lisa Mitchell. Quickly attracting the interest of Dermot O'Leary, host of BBC Radio 2's Saturday Sessions Show, for a cover of Arcade Fire's track 'Rebellion'.

His debut single 'Pictures', off the same-titled second EP, emerged in 2011 to substantial praise. 'Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm', his first album, also came out that same year, to reach 35 on the UK's album chart.

Benjamin has now produced a total of five studio albums. These also encompass 2016's 'After The Rain', 2019's 'Gratitude' and 2021's 'To Carry A Whale'. Singles include 'Tilikum', Gratitude' and 'Look Ma'. His most recent LP 'Some Things Break' is out in 2024.

A ticket costs £16.00. Logo Design can play an important role when it comes to the promotion of both solo artists and bands, and their tours, which often include the sale of merchandise.
