Warrington Collegiate celebrates student achievements
Warrington Collegiate, a provider of vocational education, recently recognised the achievements of its outstanding students.
The awards ceremony for the institute was attended by both staff and students. The event took place at a local church, while it received sponsorship from Wire FM and Newsquest. Over 60 awards were distributed on the evening. Some of the students honoured at the ceremony could boost business card printing in Warrington as they take their careers to the next level.
The principal of the college, Nichola Newton, and local reverend Paul Wilson helped to greet in excess of 250 guests. The prestigious prize of Overall Student of the Year went to Sian Haselden. She secured a separate prize in relation to her work within public services.
Tina James, the tutor of Ms Haselden, nominated her pupil and told the Warrington Guardian that the learner had satisfied the “definition of the perfect Public Services student.”
Caitlin Wright, an apprentice hairdresser, was also recognised at the awards ceremony. She received the title of Overall Outstanding Apprentice of the Year. In addition, her passion for her work was commented on favourably.
Joshua Pyrah received the prize for Outstanding Contribution to Student Leadership. This was because of his efforts as a student ambassador and governor. He has managed to fulfil these roles while making progress with plumbing and electrics. On behalf of all the students, he thanked all those who had made the awards possible.
