Hillingdon reunion raises cash for premature babies

A Hillingdon reunion raised in excess of £800 for a charity which helps premature babies.

The reunion was hosted at Uxbridge Golf Course. A total sum of £815 was raised to assist the cause. The Hillingdon Hospitals Charity may wish to use Flyers from printers in Hayes for fundraising purposes in the future.

A varied group of people were entitled to attend the reunion. The party included former pupils from Swakeleys School and Abbotsfield School. Individuals were expected to have gone to either of the two educational establishments during the 15-year period leading up to 1985. As well as this, patrons of two local pubs were also made welcome at the event.

Richard Warren, himself someone who had studied in the area, organised the occasion. Warren is now living in Hertfordshire and he explained that he had wanted to give something back to a small charity.

Warren told Get West London:

“People were generous in their giving and it was all to a good cause. Our granddaughter was premature and she just celebrated her 7th birthday. She was like a little bag of sugar in my hand.”

The neonatal section in Hillingdon Hospital has gained from the 2016 reunion. Vital equipment such as alarms and incubators can benefit from public donations. Warren has already begun planning another reunion for next year.
