The planning committee of Harrow Council has given the go-ahead to a housing development near a recreation ground.
More than 60 homes will be constructed in an initiative involving an investment of £11m. Full colour printing from marketing services will no doubt be used to promote the properties when they are completed. People living in Hayes and other parts of west London could well be tempted by the accommodation.
The architectural company Stockwool is behind the project. Stockwool Partner Gavin Redfern told Get West London:
“We are delighted that the scheme has been so positively received by the Council. This is a difficult urban site with constraints in relation to noise, overlooking and daylight.”
Redfern pointed out that the firm had come up with a design that addressed the potential problems associated with the site. He added that residents of the houses would have great access to local amenities. Further, he indicated that there should be some pleasant views of recreational land from the finished buildings.
It has been reported that building could start in the next few months. The number of bedrooms per house will vary, some parking spaces will be made available for residents, and a few of the houses will be reserved for people who use wheelchairs. The buildings will be positioned in proximity to Pinner Road, so central Harrow will be nearby.
