Tamworth is set to open its doors for a night dedicated to Irish music this November.
Tamworth’s acclaimed Assembly Rooms are hosting an event entitled One Night in Dublin featuring the famous Irish musical group, The Wild Murphys. Local venues hosting Irish-themed nights can sometimes enlist expert banner printing services to create professional signage featuring emblems and colours like four leaf clovers and spring green.
The band will be setting up “Murphy’s Pub” at the Tamworth venue before playing their unique brand of award-winning and high-energy yet traditional Irish music.
Boasting seven band members, the Wild Murphys are led singer Middi Murphy equipped with banter, blarney and an accordion. Other musicians include Tony Davis on keyboard, Trevor Brewis on drums, and BBC award-winning fiddler, Sophy Ball.
The Wild Murphys play a wide range of Irish classics made famous by bands like the Pogues, the Dubliners and Thin Lizzy, as well as solo artists like Van Morrison. As a result, those attending the upcoming gig may get a chance to hear tracks like “Galway Girl”, “The Irish Rover”, “Sally MacLennane”, “Brown Eyed Girl”, “Whiskey in the Jar,” and “The Wild Rover” to name but a few.
One Night in Dublin will take place at the Tamworth Assembly Rooms situated on Corporation Street in Tamworth on Thursday, 3 November. Doors will open at 6.30pm.
