Superhero from Stockport plans charity run

A Stockport man will be taking part in a major charity run later this year to raise awareness of his chosen cause, and he will be completing the event clad as an unusual superhero.

Tim Wheeler is an ex-head teacher and magistrate, and he will be entering the annual Great Manchester Run in the guise of ‘Scissorman’ – a hero of his own creation. He has had an outfit specifically designed for use on the day and is hoping to raise public awareness of the charity Little Princess Trust, which supplies wigs to children who are being treated for cancer.

Banner printing shops can help the friends and families of people entering charity runs in Stockport and beyond to show public support for them on the day.

Wheeler has served as the chairperson for Little Princess Trust for over a decade now, and he has stated that his interest in the charity was sparked when a girl at the school where he was working was diagnosed with cancer. This led her parents to set up the charity for children in that situation.

In total, Wheeler has completed 15 runs so far as ‘Scissorman’, a character that the children in his school came up with to recognise the work that employees of the charity do to craft the wigs. His first run was the London Marathon.

The Great Manchester Run takes place on 22nd May.
